..bist dat du.. ??
Hi,
I bought an old used laptop model EL-386S/25e (Serial: 9117175) with a
60MB hard drive. But it is not bootable. After giving the possibility
to enter the BIOS appears the message "Enter a key to reboot". But
because of the fact that there is no internal floppy disk drive I can
not copy a DOS version to the hard disk to make it bootable.
So I took the drive out and installed it in another Laptop. I formated
it and copied DOS 6.2 on it (format /s). But nor the other laptop
neither in the ASI laptop boots with that drive. Data can normally be
stored on it. The drive of the other laptop (80MB) does not work in
the ASI laptop.
Here are my questions:
Where can I get things like old hard drives?
Is there anyone who has a manual for the ASI laptop?
Does anybody have the pin plan of the external floppy drive
connection?
The BIOS tells me that there is no ROM-DOS found. Is it easy to
install a ROM-DOS? Who knows how that would work?
greetings
